Barolo is an Italian community of just 700 inhabitants in the province of Cuneo and is mainly known for the outstanding red wine that is produced there.  The most famous wine-growing area in the district is the Cannubi hill, where Nebbiolo grapes have been cultivated since Roman times.

The first wine route in the province of Cuneo was the "Barolo and Great Wines of Langhe Trail" and was established before the communities of "Colline di Langa e del Barolo" were merged with the Enoteca Regionale del Barolo.

Also worth a visit in the little community are the mediaeval castle in the centre of the village and the local heritage museum.
